Sherry Coutu pursues a portfolio of interests which include early stage
technology investing and serving on the boards of companies and charities. A
serial entrepreneur now turned investor, her current activities include
positions with Cambridge University, Cambridge University Press, New Energy
Finance, Linkedin, NESTA, The Prince's Trust, Cancer Research UK and others.
Reid Hoffman is Executive Chairman and a co-founder of LinkedIn. Prior to LinkedIn, Reid was Executive Vice President of PayPal where he was in charge of all business relationships: business development, corporate development, international, government relations, and banking/payments infrastructure. During his tenure at PayPal, Reid was instrumental to the acquisition by eBay and was responsible for partnerships with Intuit, Visa, MasterCard and Wells Fargo. Reid also has held management roles in significant technology companies, including Fujitsu Software Corporation and Apple. In addition to LinkedIn, Reid serves on the Board of Directors for SixApart, Kiva.org, and Mozilla Corporation. Reid graduated with distinction from Stanford University with a BS in Symbolic Systems and from Oxford University with a Master’s degree in philosophy and a Marshall scholarship.
Matko Botincan is an entrepreneurial-minded research computer scientist with strong
background in mathematics and software development. Currently he is pursuing his PhD
study at Computer Laboratory, University of Cambridge working in the area of automatic
software verification. Also, he is actively involved in IT & web entrepreneurial
activities and is passionate about bringing advanced technology and research to the
business side. He is Vice-President of Cambridge University Entrepreneurs (CUE).
Vivian is the President of Cambridge University Technology & Enterprise Club (CUTEC) and is
currently a Cambridge Commonwealth scholar pursuing her PhD in Biochemistry. She has vast
interests in entrepreneurship and commercialisation of science. Prior to her postgraduate studies,
she worked as an Investment Process Manager at a venture fund in Brisbane, Australia and was also
selected to represent Australia in the Novartis BioCamp, held as a platform for exploring the
innovative and entrepreneurial aspects of biotechnology.
Nils is the Project Manager for the Silicon Valley Comes To Cambridge conference 2010. He recently finished his
MBA at the University of Cambridge, Judge Business School, and now works feverishly on his new internet start-up.
He is passionate about entrepreneurship and is always on the look-out for people to join the team, especially those
with a Computer Science background. Prior to his MBA, he gained experience in Sales and Marketing as well as in Project Management.
Robert is a computer scientist and entrepreneur with experience in web applications and
robotic engineering. He is currently studying for an MPhil in computer science
at the University of Cambridge, where he also completed the Diploma in Computer Science
in 2006-07. In-between courses he developed software applications for one of the world's most
advanced human-form robotic hand at the Shadow Robot company, and he's served as the CIO
for Cambridge University Technology and Enterprise Club (CUTEC) before joining the Executive
Committee at SVC2C.
Priscilla Li is a recent graduate of the Cambridge MBA at Judge Business School and former
project manager for the Silicon Valley comes to Cambridge conference in 2009. Previously,
as an Associate Director at Bell Canada, Priscilla led the delivery of new products and
services in the high tech sector. Post MBA, Priscilla is taking this passion one step
further by pursuing entrepreneurial ventures including
Alta Consult, a management
consulting firm working with leading technology, media and telecommunications companies
Lyudmila is a researcher and entrepreneur with experience in IT business. In 2009 she was awarded a PhD degree
at Judge Business School, Cambridge. Currently Lyudmila realizes her passion for entrepreneurship in her work
as Head of Product Development in TriStart, a company that provides a business readiness assessment tool to
early stage businesses. She also works on Meta Alternative, a software start-up she co-founded.
Andrew completed his undergraduate degree at Georgia Institute of Technology and is now in the third
year of his PhD in the Department of Materials Science & Metallurgy at the University of Cambridge where
his research focuses on the electrical properties of metal oxide nanowires for hybrid solar cells under the
direction of Professor Judith Driscoll. Andrew is passionate about the introduction of new technology into
industry and has gained a diverse range of experiences from working with multiple technology companies.
Andrew joined the CUTEC team in October 2008 and was the President from 2009 to 2010.
Nicky Reynolds is the Personal Assistant to Dr Shai Vyakarnam at the Centre for Entrepreneurial Learning,
Cambridge Judge Business School and has been with the Centre for 3 years. She has experience with working with
the student societies at the University of Cambridge in providing the administration for CUE Business Plan
for the past 2 year. Her previous work experience ranges from working in property management to veterinary
science to community orientated, government funded projects, picking up a wide range of valuable skillsets
along the way. In her "spare" time she is a qualified reflexologist.
Sebastian is the Director of Development for the Cambridge University Technology and Enterprise Club (CUTEC)
and member of the i-Teams Steering Committee. He currently is a PhD student at the Cavendish Laboratory working
on organic electronics under Prof. Henning Sirringhaus. His research focuses on understanding the electrical
transport mechanisms happening within conducting polymer field-effect transistors. He received his Masters
degree in physics from The University of Texas at Austin, USA. Before coming to Cambridge, he worked on
mechanically flexible solar cells for the University of Freiburg, Germany, in collaboration with the
Fraunhofer Institute for Solar Energy Systems.
Shen L. Wei is an entrepreneurial minded Cambridge University student finishing her PhD study in Pharmacology.
She is the President of Cambridge University Entrepreneurs (CUE) and she enjoys tremendously working alongside
talented people at CUE filled with innovative entrepreneurial spirits. She is passionate to promote entrepreneurship
from Cambridge and beyond. She is also interested in founding High-tech and Social Entreprise start-ups.
